Complete your online enrolment on from mid-August. Face-to-face enrolments will be held for non-UK students during the Orientation programme, or welcome week. Fully self-funding international students you will need to pay 50% of your annual tuition fee at the point that you enrol.

Check your vaccination history, and if required get the and vaccines before you arrive. When you register with a UK doctor they will ask for this information. There is no requirement to have been vaccinated for COVID-19 when travelling to the UK, but some of our healthcare courses do have this as a requirement so check your offer letter.

Plan how you will get from the airport to your accommodation or campus – we have information on travelling to the UK to help you do this.

Make friends – before you arrive in the UK, you might want to join our Unibuddy chat for new international students to see if there is anyone else on your course or campus who will be arriving at the same time as you. You can also follow International Student Support on and for updates about our social programme.

Get organised with your paperwork – ensure you’ve got your passport photos, acceptance letter, visa, passport, original qualification certificates and transcripts, evidence of your funding and your CAS statement email. Keep your paperwork in your hand luggage, as you will need it at UK border control.

Bring money – to open a UK bank account you first need to have enrolled in person on your course. Once you have done this, it can take up to two weeks to open a UK bank account, so make sure you have funds to cover your expenses during this time.
