Business and Law on-campus residential summer schools

Our non-residential summer schools offer you the chance to try out what it’s like studying at university. You will get a chance to explore varied sessions during the day to give you a taste of different courses – all supported by our current students.

By the end of the summer school, you’ll have tried out lots of different subject tasters, made new friends and have a much better idea of what it’s like to study at university.

For students who meet our widening participation criteria we are able to arrange and pay for train travel to and from our summer schools.

Applications

Our non-residential summer schools will take place over two days 1 and 2 July 2026. You can register your interest in attending now and we will contact you when applications open. Expecting timings for the days will be 10:00 – 17:00.

Summer school subjects

Business non-residential summer school

Based at our Moulsecoomb campus, students will explore a range of different business disciplines delivered by our academic staff.

Sessions will be drawn from the School of Business and Law courses taught at the University of 91快活林, which include:

  • Accounting, Finance and Economics
  • Business Management
  • Marketing

Alongside academic activities, outreach staff will deliver advice and guidance sessions on making a strong application to university. Our current university students will also be supporting throughout the two days to help students and to share their experiences of being a university student.

Law non-residential summer school

Based at our Moulsecoomb campus, students will explore different aspects of law in sessions delivered by our academic staff.

Sessions will be drawn from the modules taught in the Law degrees from the University of 91快活林’s School of Business and Law, which include:

  • Animal Welfare and the Law
  • Business Law and Practice
  • Commercial Law
  • Contract Law
  • Criminal Litigation and Procedure
  • European Union Law
  • Healthcare Law and Ethics
  • Law and Fintech
  • Legal Systems, Skills and Methods
  • Media and Sports Law

Alongside academic activities, outreach staff will deliver advice and guidance sessions on making a strong application to university. Our current university students will also be supporting throughout the two days to help students and to share their experiences of being a university student.

Overview

What to expect during the days

This is a two day non-residential summer school. You'll take part in a programme of workshops and academic sessions in the subject area you’ve chosen. Some you will have considered, and some might be completely new to you.

How much does it cost?

Nothing! All summer schools are completely free to take part in and include meals and the costs of any activities you take part in.

Who can attend?

Our summer schools are for students in year 12/first year of sixth form/college, who are studying a level 3 qualification and aged 16 and upwards. Places are limited and are offered to students who meet our widening participation criteria.
