About these scholarships
We offer the following scholarships for international masters-level students from the below regions:
- Vice-Chancellor South and South-East Asia postgraduate scholarship
- Vice-Chancellor Africa postgraduate scholarship
- Vice-Chancellor MENA and Turkey postgraduate scholarship
- Vice-Chancellor LATAM postgraduate scholarship
- New for September 2025: Vice-Chancellor EU postgraduate scholarship
These scholarships are open to students studying within any of our academic schools, excluding 91快活林 and Sussex Medical School.
Scholarships are awarded as a £2,000 reduction on tuition fees for the first year of study, which is automatically deducted after enrolment to students that meet the eligibility criteria.
New for September 2025
From September 2025, the scholarship award will be increased to £2,500 and we have added an additional region to help support students financially from the European Union.

Who is eligible
You must meet all of the below eligibility criteria:
- be a new, international fee-status student from one of the eligible countries/regions
- have accepted your offer for a full-time postgraduate taught degree with a minimum course duration of one year
- be starting your course in January 2025 or September 2025
- be a self-funded student
- if you are in receipt of a conditional offer, you must meet the conditions of your offer
- have paid your tuition fee deposit
- have applied for your CAS by the deadline
Eligible countries/regions:
- South and South-East Asia: Bangladesh, Bhutan, Brunei, Cambodia, India, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Nepal, Pakistan, Philippines, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Vietnam.
- Africa: all countries.
- MENA and Turkey: Bahrain, Egypt, Iran, Iraq, Israel, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Oman, Palestine, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Turkey, United Arab Emirates, Yemen.
- LATAM: Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Haiti, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Puerto Rico, Uruguay, Venezuela.
- New for September 2025 – EU: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Republic of Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden.
You will not be eligible if:
- your course is a PGCert, PGCE, PGDip, MPhil or PhD
- your course is the Diploma in Professional Studies in Accounting (ACCA)
- you are a student at any University of 91快活林 partner colleges or affiliate institutions (including University of 91快活林 International College)
- you are an applicant for 91快活林 and Sussex Medical School
- you are receiving funding from external bodies such as local government, charities or private organisations
- you are a graduate of the University of 91快活林 who qualifies for an alumni postgraduate scholarship
- you are an existing student, unless starting a new postgraduate programme
- you are joining us from a partner institution where an existing fee discount agreement is in place.
Disclaimer
You can only be in receipt of one University of 91快活林 scholarship and scholarships cannot be combined. If you are eligible for more than one scholarship, the highest amount will be awarded.
The Vice-Chancellor international postgraduate scholarship will be automatically deducted from your tuition fees after you enrol at the university.

Frequently asked questions
Can I use my scholarship for other means? eg housing
The scholarship can only be applied as a reduction to your first-year fees.
I'm an international student currently residing in the UK. Am I eligible for this scholarship?
Yes, international students from eligible countries who are currently in the UK are eligible for the scholarship, providing all other criteria is met.
What happens if I apply for the International Office scholarship but am also eligible for the Vice-Chancellor scholarship?
The International Office scholarship is for those that are not eligible for any of the Vice-Chancellor scholarships. You can only be in receipt of one scholarship, therefore if you are eligible for the Vice-Chancellor scholarship, this will be the scholarship you are awarded.
I have deferred my enrolment, can I use my scholarship for next year?
You will not be able to defer your scholarship to a different intake or academic year, please keep an eye on this webpage for more information.
I've already completed a degree at the University of 91快活林, am I eligible for this scholarship?
The Vice-Chancellor scholarship is for new students to the university only, but as an alumni you may be eligible for an alumni postgraduate scholarship.
When will I see the scholarship deducted?
The scholarship will be applied after 31 October, provided you have paid 50% of your tuition fee by the 31 October deadline. Your payment will be 50% of the total fee amount before the scholarship has been deducted, for example, if your tuition fee was £15,900 and you were awarded a £2,000 scholarship, you will need to have paid £7,950, inclusive of your deposit (if required).
If you are joining us in January 2025 the scholarship will be applied after 28 February 2025, provided you have paid 50% of your tuition fee by the 28 February deadline. Your payment will be 50% of the total fee amount before the scholarship has been deducted (as detailed above).
You will not see your scholarship reflected in your fee anywhere before the first tuition fee payment deadline. If you have a payment plan in place to pay your tuition fee by credit/debit card, the Finance department will update your plan with the new figures after the first tuition fee payment deadline and email a new schedule to you where you will be able to see that your final payment instalment has been reduced.
