In a restrained healthcare environment, it is increasingly important to better understand how we can work more effectively in getting the best outcomes for patients and disabled people. Equally important is determining which outcomes matter most to those we work with and ensuring we develop the best outcome measures with a person-centred focus. In this presentation, Professor Kersten challenged some ways in which we use and interpret measures in healthcare and illustrate potential pitfalls. She used examples of her research to argue for a more robust and meaningful approach to person-centred measurement.
