Our digital cultural heritage incorporates many different media, from computer games through to digital art and from databases to 3D visualisations, yet with constantly changing digital formats, hardware and software can become outmoded almost as quickly as they are created. The challenge of maintaining our digital archives in the face of constant change faces both institutions and individuals tasked with ensuring that these materials are both preserved and accessible.
Professor Janet Anderson will draw from an interdisciplinary career incorporating the Arts, Humanities and Computer Science and research into disciplines including mathematics, electrical engineering and the history of mathematics to examine the trials and options facing those whose work it is to preserve our digital cultural heritage.
