Local governors make a positive impact to young people’s lives by volunteering their time, personal and professional skills to contribute to the strategic leadership of an academy.
A largely thinking and questioning role, local governors also assist with monitoring an academy’s educational performance and ensuring academy staff have the required resources and support to do their job well. They work alongside elected parent and staff representatives and the academy’s Principal. Free training and support is provided, developing individuals’ board-level leadership, strategy and team working skills.
Paul Griffiths, Chief Executive of the trusts said: “Ensuring that we have quality local governors contributing to the governance of our academies is very important to us. Their knowledge and expertise supports our aim of providing high-quality education to all the children at our academies.”
Applications from interested individuals are requested by Friday 22 April 2016.
