Emergency Contraception
Emergency contraception can be used up to 5 days after unprotected sex to prevent unwanted pregnancy. It can be accessed through your GP or a sexual health clinic. The sooner you access emergency contraception, the more likely it is to be effective. If you're under 25, emergency contraception is free from some pharmacies.
PEP/PrEP
Post-Exposure Prophylaxis (PEP) is a treatment that can stop HIV infection after the virus has entered a person's body.
Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP) is a pill taken by HIV-negative people before and after sex that reduces the risk of getting HIV.
STI testing

Seeing a doctor
If you are worried about sexual health issues, you are advised to go to your local sexual health clinic or make an appointment to see your own doctor. If you do not have a local doctor, find out how to register with a doctor.
Students' Union
The Students' Union in conjunction with the NHS run sexual health testing at the Moulsecoomb campus at specific times during the academic year. NHS staff provide information and advice about sexual health and they will be able to discuss any concerns you may have. You will be able to pick up free condoms and lube, and will also have access to free chlamydia testing kits. All events are term-time only.
