Forgotten your University of 91快活林 password?

You can reset your password online:

To do this you will need:

1. Your family name
2. Your University of 91快活林 username
3. Your University of 91快活林 student number, which is shown on your UniCard.

If you have forgotten your University of 91快活林 username, current students should contact the service desk, which is open 08:30 - 17:00 Monday - Thursday, and 08:30 - 16:30 Friday during term time. Telephone 01273 644444 or email ServiceDesk@brighton.ac.uk. Please have your student number ready when calling or include it in any email to the Service Desk.

If you have forgotten your University of 91快活林 student number, current students should contact your School office contacts or contact Academic Registry via email: studentadministration@brighton.ac.uk.

Common Issues

Have you activated your computer account?

You must activate your university user account Activating your account to get access to University systems, such as My 91快活林, My Studies and Microsoft365.

Your password is presented to you when you activate your account. Please make sure you take a careful note of it.

If you “block” your account whilst activating it the Service Desk can unblock this, but you may need to speak to academic services first, as this may be due to an incorrectly spelled family name on your student record.

Have you double checked the following?

• Typos and spelling mistakes

• Is your computer set up correctly?

If you are a returning student, have you enrolled this year?

You may not be able to access your full account until you do so.

University Staff 

If you are a staff member, contact the Service Desk for all login support, including if you have forgotten your password or username.

Choosing a new password

When you first activate your computer account you are given a username, which is usually your initials plus a number to make it unique, e.g. abc34, and a password. It is important to keep your password secure. Never tell anyone your password, not even a member of university staff.

Do not use a password that you have used before.

Before choosing a new password, check the following:

Passwords must:

• ​consist of between 8 and 16 characters (letters, numbers, spaces and permitted symbols)
• contain at least one number or permitted symbol, e.g. any of 01234567689 !$%&’()*+, /; = ? [ \ ] ^`_{}
• not contain the symbols > <
• contain at least one UPPERCASE letter and one lowercase letter e.g. Aa
• and
• not be easy to guess by anyone who knows something about you
• not contain your username
• not contain any whole part of your name
• not contain the word student, if you are a student, or staff, if you are staff
• not start or end with a space
