Access and participation plans set out how higher education providers will improve equality of opportunity for underrepresented groups to access, succeed in and progress from higher education.
They include:
- the provider’s ambition for change
- what it plans to do to achieve that change
- the targets it has set
- the investment it will make to deliver the plan.
From 2020-21, plans will last no longer than five years. The plan relates to the cohorts of students the provider will register in the five years from the point at which the plan starts. Access agreements approved by the Director for Fair Access for academic years up to and including 2018-19, and access and participation plans for 2019-20, remain in force for students covered by those agreements. All access and participation plans can be found below.
Access and participation plans only cover our undergraduate UK and EU students.
Students are covered by the most recent access and participation plan or access agreement in place at the time they started their studies. This agreement will then cover them throughout their studies even if the university introduces new access and participation plans in subsequent years.
