The Student Policy Network is made up of UUK members and provides thought leadership and advice to the UUK Board on the role of universities in supporting and enhancing the student experience, including issues such as the Teaching Excellence Framework, consumer rights and admissions.
Professor Humphris said: “I am honoured to have been elected by my peers to a role that focuses on enhancing the student experience, something that fits hand and glove with the university’s mission of putting students at the heart of everything we do. Over the year I hope to actively engage our students in the network.”
As Chair, Professor Humphris will be a member of the UUK Board and will lead the work of the network, including the development of its agenda.
The appointment is for one year from 1 August 2017 and followed UUK’s Electoral Reform Services ballot on 1 March.
UUK is the voice of universities. It helps maintain the world-leading strength of the UK university sector and supports members to achieve their aims and objectives. Members are the vice-chancellors or principals (executive heads) of universities in England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland.
